TABLEEK says:
"Salaams... Inside Looking Out- my third independently released solo albums- is the latest collection of contemporary rap sounds grounded differently from the "provocative" solo debut album Hunting Bald Eagles..and Other Ghetto Tales or the deep electronic funk induced album A Deepest Blue. "

With vigilant lyricism, complementing three decades of underground hiphop, TABLEEK's latest LP shares his thoughts and troubles on fatherhood ("On the Next 24"), keeping tabs on your people ("Friends" featuring Suadela), and dealing with cycles of violence ("Lost").

"Observing the changes of our world through these decades of music has been a true test and a blessing at times. These songs were written with what was plaguing and occupying my mind during the recording process.. I'm greatful that I had these dope options in the lab  with RODDYROD to build with."

Three additional tracks are added to the LP version: "Fitna", "Clever Crooks" and "Zero", which finds TABLEEK and his crew  #Maspyke on a new release for the first time in a decade!

The Maspyke connection is strong on this album, as our comrade and my cousin RODDYROD (not to be confused with any imposters), who has previously served as the beat conductor for  damn near all of Maspyke's beloved most revered tracks like the "Gong Show" b/w "Definition of a Snake",  singles like "Truth and Position", and the two pinnacle albums of the group- The Blackout and Static both of which are considered by many to be classics of the later Rawkus era in NYC.

Speaking on the music of Inside Looking Out TABLEEK says:
"...working over the course of  two seasons (summer & fall), the idea was that each song would concept wise and sonically stand on its own, and for some make the hairs on there neck to stand up with that soulful, rugged underground hiphop blues that has been RODDYROD's imprint on the game from the earliest Maspyke joints."

"Inside Looking Out" is a raw and impeccable perspective the underground has come to expect from TABLEEK who over time has brought a consistent style of infinity dopeness to the independent rap game. This is the album which embodies what the catalog that taps into and reworks 21st century boom bap with passion, vigor, and authenticity.

It's been reported that AI now has the ability to imitate any form of music. The line that separated what the machine can do and what a human can create is forever blurred. However there is still something that can never be duplicated, and its stretches beyond being able to create a syncopated beat and throwing some slang in for the vocals. Soul. The soul transcends and reinterprets what the 1's and 0's of the machine can make you feel. TABLEEK's newest contribution "No Machine Rap" produced by our guy and fellow Maspyke member RODDYROD takes a firm stand against imitators, whether they run on electricity or captain crunch..! While some folks have thrown in the towel and accepted the inevitability of a AI artist that won't "talk back"", "No Machine Rap" starts off with advice for those anticipating the emergence of the non-emceeing terminators: "You should never rap!" Join TABLEEK in acknowledging the novelty of yet another man made crisis in a more often than not great music century, and so for US, as we see it, the people have spoken and the verdict is in. if you believe that the music is soul speak, take a quick journey with TABLEEK alongside frequent collaborator RODDY ROD to set up the philosophical creed that the soul conscious creators of music should embrace: "NO MACHINE RAP"!! Stay tuned.

Dedicated to those that take hiphop music and culture SERIOUSLY

First, a few words from TABLEEK..
"Salaam. 'Lost' is the first record that I recorded with RODDY ROD for the new EP we are dropping in November. If you were a friend of the Maspyke joints over the years, you should be pleased to hear this...and with "the work" that's coming on the EP 'Inside Looking Out'"

If you are unfamiliar, we would suggest you give RODDY ROD's production on "Got It" and "Knew Subliminal" a listen from "Hunting Bald Eagles..and other Ghetto Tales". The rabbit hole goes deeper with Maspyke LPs, EPs, and singles like "Played List", "54th Regiment", "Truth In Position", and the "Gong Show". All this effort is to further remove yourself from isolation. Your welcome.

Second, a few words about "Lost"..

-The Masterplan on CIUT (Toronto, ON, Canada)
"banging underground sound. shits iLL. pure DOPE!"

-Quantum Leap Radio on KPFT 90.1 fm (Houston, TX)
"Now that's that conscious Hip-Hop shit I rock too"

-Cultural Bunker/Urban Music Director on WRUV (Burlington, VT)
"This is hip-hop at it’s purest form and the way I like it. Can’t wait for the full release of this gem"

And finally one last word from TABLEEK..
"I've been making music with Sir Roderick since the mf 9th grade, and things have progressed to say the least. I would appreciate a purchase, but will respect a share. Please enjoy this new thing we're building from the ground up, and Stay tuned..

"Actions & Intentions" is the a-side for the latest digital 12" contribution from artist TABLEEK (1/3 of the heralded crew Maspyke- "Step", "Played List", "Truth In Position").
Produced by long time collaborator MansionBoy, "Actions & Intentions" is a unique vibration, playing off of the always witty wordplay of TABLEEK who starts it off with:

"..head harder than a diamond that's the path I'm climbing, it could be the longest night in centuries in a dark house with dark curtains I keep shining

Another off kilter release by TABLEEK, with its ominous bass shaking frequency heard throughout the mix, layered with a true skool breakbeat that compliments the boundless train of thought lyrics and chorus by the writer, ready for approval from the low end/ lo-fi aficionados and lyric lovers alike . Attempting to re-create the vibe of the 12" era, This is the a-side to a b-side track entitled "Devil in the Duplex" found exclusively here or the store burntberry.net

Stay tuned,

The thing that often separates a good song from a great song is the emotion that the song elicits from the listener, and if you look at music over the decades, the break up song is the quintessential topic.
"Future Knots" is not the first hiphop break up song, and probably not the last. One thing thats different in this case though, is the song is not all "oh baby baby please", so it's actually a bit less on the break up, and more on the accepting and moving on.
Written and recorded while on tour in Dublin, Ireland, beat maker G Frequency solidifies a rugged beat with tight chanting keys to creating something that is hypnotizing, unique, unusual and just chill enough to keep your head nodding!
Its often said that "break ups make great art".
Go listen.

Many unique stories start with "once upon a time"..and so check it, once upon a time a bunch untamed young brothers, bonded by the word and beats were determined to beat the streets and started jumping in the studio. Many a test and tribulation later these brothers now known as MASPYKE were fortunate enough to independently release a slew of very well received singles, EPs and albums. Joints like "Step", "54th Regiment", "Truth and Position" and "Gong Show" held resonance with DJs, publications, and promoters from across the world from Stretch and Bobbito (NYC), DJ Revolution (LA), URB Magazine (LA), and XXL Magazine (NYC), Lyricist Lounge (NYC), HipHop Connection (UK) to Blaze Magazine (Japan).

The founding members of Maspyke- after a decade of grinding- parted ways unofficially in the early 2010's, but have since collaborated on many occasions, including this new joint by TABLEEK and RODDY ROD entitled "Goblin Theory".

Conceived in light of what appears to be a resurgence of new joints from (and for) the more polished hiphop aficionados on the earth who haven't adjusted to "Pop-Rap" and who lean outside the box for what we would describe as progressive soulful street hiphop music. Earnest lyricism similar to artists like Homeboy Sandman, Oddisee, J-Live, John Robinson, or Humble Monarchs, where RODDY ROD holds down the day to day.

Speaking of RODDY ROD, "Goblin Theory" is a serious sound manipulation by the unsung producer of Maspyke, Cali Agents, and others. The music he constructs here repurposes the old into this dope blend of a horns, thumping bassline, 80s synth, and Roddy Rod's signature heavy drums, providing the perfect frenzy and incentive for TABLEEK to continue where he left off from recent releases "Future Knots" and "Juice with the Trophy Snatch" to get BUSY.

Perhaps...by chance, this is just the first of more things to come from these two members of the much beloved collective?

Stay tuned.

TABLEEK on Hunting Bald Eagles..and Other Ghetto Tales:

"This is my official debut solo LP, so it's a very special record for a brother! Everyone is shining on this, from collaborators (Roosta from Fear Nuthin Band, Sadat X from Brand Nubians, Stan Illa from the EarDrugz, DJ Iron Lyon, Whosane & BlakNerd), to all the music maestros on beats (Roddy Rod from Maspyke & Low Budget, Kid Sublime, & Chilrok), I was able to assemble and form what I feel is a strong listen from beginning to end."

The title is political and science fiction. The content is uncompromising and witty. The music is challenging and sharp.

Tracks like "The Beast"- which deals with police violence- are a way to express how the mundane thoughts that take up your life, can be disrupted in an instant."

TABLEEK choose to work exclusively with Kid Sublime (BBE/Ballroom Records) on A Deepest Blue, after building a good vibe with him in the studio while recording the song "Rulez" on a prior visit to Amsterdam. Kid Sublime has deep hiphop roots, as a former employee of FatBeats in Amsterdam, and honed his skills with dope collaborators and releases over the years.

Guests on the project include a big contribution from New Haven, CT's Blaknerd, Gangstarr Foundation member Krumbsnatcha, and the EarDrugz's Stan Illa.
